Travelling , travelling, travelling,… We arrived in Poland and are ready to discover this country. The movie shows some beautiful parts of Poland. After you have seen this you might be interested to visit Poland.

Another country, another blog about the local customs and traditions of course. Before you visit this beautiful place I want to tell you about the different traditions and customs.

Are you curious how they live and behave in this country before you visit Poland? Continue reading…

Polish people have different nationalities, Ukrainian, Belorussian, Slovakian and Lithuanian people are present along the borders. Although these different nationalities religion plays an important role and religious holidays are considered as national holidays. Businesses are closed these days.

An old habit that is still going on in Poland is that older men kiss women’s hands when they introduce themselves. This is also done when they say hello during parties. Modern people that are younger think it is stupid and the young women do not even like it. Nowadays it doesn’t happen so often but when it does you do not have to be surprised or embarrassed.

Another important fact is when you are in Poland and wants to have a party with your friends you should be careful not to be too drunk. The police are very strict to public drunkenness. When you are drunk in a public place you may be taken to a clinic and locked up till you have sobered.

At last I would like to present a Polish Tradition ‘Andrzejki’. It is called St.Andrew Day. For foreigners this day is a great occasion to experience some Polish customs. Like at every party there is a lot of food and drinks. Besides drinking and eating there is also a future foretold where someone will tell you what will happen in your life.

The future predictions are very important, on 29th November in the middle of the night it is the saint’s duty to help young girls to find out who their husband is going to be. When girls received a name for example George they wouldn’t waste their time with a man named Lucas. Maybe you can visit Poland this time of the year and then you might discover the name of the love of your life!

I hope after hearing all this you will visit Poland. You do not have to be afraid because the people are very friendly here.

Bye!
