To end our exciting journey, we visited some amazing landmarks in Norway. There are some enchanting places in this country. It is possible to visit a lot of them with a cruise ship but we also saw some places that a ship cannot reach, for example the North Cape. This cliff is 307 metres high and is the northernmost point of Europe. Only the Svalbard Islands separate us from the North Pole. Here we found the Globe Monument, that has been the symbol for the North Cape since 1978. The most extraordinary experience was to watch the Midnight Sun on top of a large, flat plateau. We also enjoyed a meal in the restaurant in the Visitors’ Centre where it also possible to appreciate the panoramic views or to watch a video in the super video cinema.

One of Norway’s most renowned landmarks is the Atlantic Road. This road is 8 kilometres long and has four panoramic view- and rest areas. Here it is possible to spot seals. Whales are a less common sight. It looks like a roller coaster road and it skips from island to island across seven bridges. The tallest bridge is the Storseisundet Bridge. Because of the parking places along the road, it is possible to leave the car and enjoy the view. Through the summer fishing tours are daily arranged. The waters are perfect for diving because of the clean water. We also did a diving excursion and it was truly amazing.

Near the Geirangerfjord we kayaked through the nature. We saw beautiful fjords, waterfalls and mountains where we went for a hike. Many cruise ships go past these fjords for people who rather sit back and have a close-up view of the fjords and waterfalls. In Oslo we attended a guided tour through the Royal Palace. The guide took us through some beautiful rooms such as the Cabinet Cloakroom, White Parlour, Bird Room and the Palace Chapel.

We definitely did a lot of active activities in Norway, such as hiking, kayaking and canoeing. It was the perfect ending of our trip from Nigeria to Norway! I am really happy that I could be a part of this and that we were able to discover so much about each country.
